Step One
The primary component to the success of a niche blog is to make sure to target a hungry group of people who are craving information on a certain topic. This is the 'niche".
It is important that this group of people have a problem that they urgently want to solve. They have come to the internet to find a solution to their problem. You want to put your blog in between them and the solution to their problem. It helps if the problem is something that causes pain, such as financial, physical, or emotional pain.
Don't worry! You are not taking advantage of these people. When you have a problem, aren't you concerned about finding a good solution for it? Aren't you willing to pay for solution that works? Niche blogging is about identify a group of people with a problem, finding a suitable product or service that successfully addresses that problem, and then putting your blog in between the two.

Research
You now have to do research to determine if there is enough people searching on the niche. This can be fun, but it is also time-consuming. Again, those that sign up through me receive this info on a weekly basis. Otherwise, you can do the keyword research on your own or pay someone to do it for you.
Opposite to what most IMers think, NO competition is not a good thing. NO competition means that it's not a profitable niche. You really want SOME competition. You can always beat them out because Firepow 2.0 will give you the edge over that competition.
Another piece to the successful blogging puzzle is finding the right product to promote. There are several conflicting approaches to finding good products. I use them all. Again, my Firepow 2.0 bonus provides this info on a weekly basis for free.
However, I often choose Adsense as the monetization model for my blogs, so finding a good product is not necessary.
